An enhanced version of Digital Key recently debuted on the 2026 Lexus ES, storing the key directly in a smartphone’s native wallet app rather than requiring the Lexus app to stay open. This version can even grant access for a period of time after a phone’s battery dies. Lexus has indicated that this newer Digital Key experience is expected to expand to additional models over time, although feature availability will vary by model and model year.
